Lady Gaga announces the launch of the foundation "Born This Way"
Lady Gaga (in collaboration with his mother) has created a foundation with the help of the MacArthur Foundation and Harvard University.
The pop star announced it is launching the nonprofit foundation Born This Way, focused on helping young people "issues such as self-confidence, welfare, harassment, mentoring and professional development."
Gaga's partners include the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur, The California Endowment and the Berkman Center for Internet & Society at Harvard University.
The foundation will be led by the singer 25 years and his mother, Cynthia Germanotta.
"Together we hope to establish a standard of courage and generosity, as well as a global community that protects and nurtures others to bullying and neglect," Gaga said in a statement.
The successful artist is known for speaking out in defense of others.
He said recently he wanted to meet with President Barack Obama to discuss their concerns about bullyingin schools, and visited Maine last year to support the rejection of military policy "do not ask, do not tell" about gay people.
"Lady Gaga will help give a voice to young power and overwhelmed, unsupported, disconnected, isolated, harassed or distressed," said Dr. Bob Ross, CEO and president of The California Endowment. "This kind of leadership is urgent in today's world."
The official launch of the Foundation is Born This Way next year. He soon announced the members of aboard of advisors.
